Everything Must Match
Everything Must
Match
Many times when scheduling a log, you may find that spots get bumped or copy does not get put on the log. One of the most common reasons is that all the pieces do not match. Here are some items to look for.
- The length of the spot in the flight must match the length of the copy.
- If you are sponsoring a feature, then the same feature name must be in both the flight line of the order and the commercial line in the stopset. Remember that it is the commercial line in the stopset that must identify the feature name, notthe program line.
- If a commercial stopset line has a min of 0 and a max of 60, any length spot from 0 to 60 can go in this avail line. If a commercial stopset line has a min of 0 and a max of 30 then any length spot from 30 to 60 will be scheduled. If a commercial stopset line has a min of 60 and a max of 60 then only a 60 second commercial will be scheduled here.
- If copy has times from 12:00A to 12:00X (X being midnight), and the flight is scheduled from 6:00AM to 7:00AM, it is a common misconception that the spot may get scheduled at 3 in the morning. The flight times control the placement of the spot. Only after the spot is scheduled does it look for copy. Since the spot can only be scheduled in the 6AM hour, copy therefore will only appear in the 6AM hour.
